"Think Infernal’s From Paris to Berlin and ATC’s All Around the World, and you’re halfway there to this madness!"

Electric Nights by Parralox, written by Roxy, Johnny X and John von Ahlen with vocals by Johanna, Louise, Roxy, Johnny X & John von Ahlen, is an interesting single with a heavy Australian electropop feel. The single flutters between Euro Synth-Pop of the 90’s and samples; actually a better word would be dabbles in today’s electropop but also with a pinch of influence from the K-Pop gene pool.

On first listening a slightly watered-down Vengaboys sprang to mind from its repetitive chorus, “So electric, so electric, Step into electric night, Turn it over, bring me closer,

Over and over” to its simplistic verses, “Let the chauffeur drive, He got the rear view in his sight, Steamy window ride, I wanna love a stranger tonight!” Such lyrics certainly do not tax the brain and have that catchy appeal, whether you like the tune or not!

Parralox’s single, Electric Nights, is a mild boppy uptempo tune, as daft as the title, with a sublime mix of catchy melodies and stupidly simple lyrics, dating back to  the   days   when

Euro Synth-Pop was at its peak. While it’s certainly niche, if Parralox can tap into their Eurovision Song Contest audience they will certainly have a blossoming career ahead of them. Think Infernal’s From Paris to Berlin and ATC’s All Around the World, and you’re halfway there to this madness!

Electric Nights is available to download 24 November 2017.

Parralox has brought back the Euro Synth-Pop of the 90’s and tossed in a couple of other genres for good measure. Be warned, Electric Nights is bad for your health!
